STRONG TEAMS DOMINATE THIS YEARS TOURNAMENT

Spectators are assured of some excellent bowling with a line up of some of Australia’s top players stepping onto the Coffs Ex Services greens.
A talented line up of bowlers from four States will play off for the $16800.00 Coffs Harbour Master Pairs prize money starting Monday 2nd July and continuing throgh to Thursday 5th July.

Last years winner, Patrick Reynolds & Aaron Sherriff will not be contesting their title as Sherriff has been picked in the Australian side and is playing in the Bowls Australia Grand Prix the same week.

2006 Runner up Richard Girvan will be teamed with Coffs Ex Services Kent Price as Wayne Turley is also in the Australian side and is playing in the Grand Prix . Even so, with Kent Price, runner up in 2006 NSW State Singles, they will sure to be in the winning circle this year.
With International, Australian and State title holders Geoff Sutcliffe, Eric Johannes, John Snell, Col Pritchard & Terry McCabe, Matt Pietersen, Shane Garvey and Tom Ellem, Andrew Waddell & Glen Raymond competing, it certainly lifts the standard and makes for a strong tournament.
There are many new faces competing this year in each of the six sections giving us a good balance of strong teams, any of which are capable of taking out the title.

A number of the new teams have entered this year from NSW, Queensland, Victoria with some very impressive titles to their credit & with an equally strong contingent of players from the local & Mid North Coast clubs coupled with several strong teams from Sydney & Newcastle, there should be some great action & entertainment for the spectators.

New face from Queensland, Travis O’Rielly, Chris Ryan, Stuart MacKnight, Brett Bogg (all from Greenslopes) while Jeff Dolan has teamed with Fred Diamond (Pine River) Queensland State Coach & Rep Robbie Dobbins & Geoff Hawkin all add a lot of strength to the tournament.
From NSW we have 18 year old NSW State Singles winner Matt Pietersen teamed with Jeff Matters (Forbes),
NSW State side players Shane Garvey and Tom Ellem , Joe Brook with Phil Westcott (Nth Sydney). Glen Raymond (Merrylands with Andrew Waddell (Mt Lewis)
Geoff “Silver” McGillivray is with Jamie Mitchell from Warilla, John Ritchie & South Africa International Eric “Guinness “ Johannes also from Warilla.
From Newcastle we have former State, Australian & Commonwealth Champion Terry McCabe teaming up with State and Australian champion Geoff Sutcliffe. New faces from Sydney are Bruce Morton & Brendon Caerleus (Taren Pt).
From Victoria we have former State & Commonwealth player John Snell from Lakes Entrance with Graham Denton Port Macquarie, Kevin Dowie &Trevor Mellotte, 2004 Australia Police Singles champ from Bainsdale, Mark Chaplin with Geoff Tinning, former State Pairs winner from Tongala, Ron Ralph with Greg Pearson .

The local teams are equally impressive with combinations such as former State players Jim Swan & Greg Randell (Park Beach) will be hard to beat, 2005 NSW State Singles runner-up Alan Carver & Graeme Purvis, Peter Woodsell & Laurie Morris, John Bain & Corey Daley, Graham Richardson with Aden Pike,
Dennis Brown & Anthony Clarke (Wolgoolga), Don Wood & Rick Southam, Alan Watkins teamed with State & Australian rep Steve Anderson will certainly be hard to beat. Central Northern team of Ross Hammond & Peter Bullen (Uralla) enter for the first time.
From the Lower North Coast we have Mark Prior with Col Baldwin, 2004 State Singles winner Bruce Anderson with Todd Shannon, Rod Hurrell with John O’Neill, Col Morrison with Garry Ruprecht
Any one of these teams could be in the winning circle.

The 2007 Coffs Harbour Master Pairs is to be played at the Coffs Harbour Ex Services Bowling Club with section play starting at 9.0 AM Monday 2nd July & continuing through to Wednesday 4th July

The Quarter Finals will be played on Wednesday afternoon with the Semi-finals on Thursday morning & Finals in the afternoon.
Defeated Quarter-finalists will play off on Wednesday PM & Thursday AM & PM for 5th 6th 7th & 8th place.
Two Consolation games will be played for those teams that do no make the Quarter Finals.
The 1st Consolation is made up from the next eight best performed teams & the next eight best performed teams will make up the 2nd Consolation. These teams play a knock out game with the winners playing off a semi-final & final AM & PM on Thursday 6th July.
Twenty four of the thirty six teams have the opportunity to share in the total prize money of $16,800.
With such a great line up of teams spectators are guaranteed of some great entertaining games.
